Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

The short version

Files Across moves files between your device and your own computer on your local network, and we never see them. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.

Who we are

Files Across is an app for iPhone and iPad made by Stefan Dasic, an independent developer ("we", "us"). It lets a web browser on a computer on the same local network send files to your device and download files from it. It has no account system and no servers that receive your files. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device and when it uses the network. It applies to the Files Across app and to this website.

What Files Across stores on your device

Everything Files Across keeps stays on your iPhone or iPad:

None of this is sent to us. Files Across does not require an account and has nothing to sign up for.

What we don't do

When Files Across uses the network

Files Across uses the network only for things you start yourself:

Photos

Read access to Photos is requested only when you add photos by reference or tap Share Photo Library, so the app can send the photos you chose to your computer. With limited access, only the photos you allowed are available. Photos are read on your device and sent only to the browser you paired. Saving a received photo or video to your library uses add-only access. Files Across never deletes or changes photos in your library.

Purchases

Files Across Pro is sold and processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details. The app reads Apple's signed transaction information only to decide whether Pro is unlocked. The free Pro try is recorded in the app's preferences on your device, not on any server. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Device backups

Because Files Across stores its data on your device, the Files Across folder and the app's settings may be included in the iCloud or computer backups you set up in iOS. Those backups are controlled by you and by Apple, not by us.

Diagnostics

Files Across contains no diagnostics or analytics of its own. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated crash and usage information under its own terms; it does not identify you.

If you email us

If you write to support@filesacrossapp.com, including through Send Feedback in the app (which opens your own mail app), we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you report, and we don't add it to any list or share it. Please don't send files you don't want us to see, passwords or payment details.

Deleting your data

You can delete files in the app or in the Files app, remove files you added from the list (the originals stay where they are), and reset photo export progress with Settings › Photo Library › Forget Sent Months. Deleting Files Across from your device removes everything it stored, including the Files Across folder and the files in it; files in a different folder you chose stay where they are. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing further to ask us to delete.

Children

Files Across is a general-audience app and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data an organization holds about you. Files Across holds none, so those rights are already satisfied. If you have questions or believe something here is wrong, email us and we will respond.

This website

filesacrossapp.com is a static site with no cookies, sign-ins, analytics or third-party scripts. Its images and stylesheet are served from filesacrossapp.com itself. The hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as the requesting IP address and the pages requested, for security and operation.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Files Across changes any of this, the change will be explained here with a new effective date and in the app, and any new data flow will be opt-in.
