# Files Across > Files Across ("Files Across: PC File Transfer") is an iPhone and iPad app that transfers photos, videos and any other files to and from a Windows, Linux or Mac computer over the local network. The computer uses only its web browser: no cable, desktop app, account, cloud service or internet connection. Free, with an optional one-time Pro upgrade. Made by independent developer Stefan Dasic. Key facts: - Platform: iPhone and iPad, iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. Distributed on the Apple App Store. - Computer: any computer with a current web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) on the same local network: Windows, Linux or macOS. Nothing is installed on the computer. - How it works: tap "Connect Computer" in the app; it shows an address such as http://192.168.1.42:8080 and a six-digit code. Type the address into the computer's browser and enter the code. Drag files onto the page to send them to the iPhone, or click Download to save files from the iPhone. - Both directions, any file type, original quality (no compression). Files up to 100 GB, limited by free storage. - Works without internet; files go directly between devices. No ads, analytics, tracking or account. App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected. - Files are shared in place (not copied into the app), so no duplicate storage. Received files go to "On My iPhone › Files Across" in the Files app. - Free: transfers in both directions, up to 5 files per batch, text and links, preview and save. - Pro (one-time in-app purchase, US$6.99 in the US; prices vary by country; no subscription): unlimited files per batch, whole-folder upload with subfolders, photo library export as one ZIP per month (resumable by month), HEIC-to-JPG conversion. Every Pro feature can be tried free for one sharing session. - Security: one-time six-digit pairing code per session (expires after 5 minutes), one browser at a time, session ends when the app leaves the screen. Transfers use plain HTTP on the local network and are not encrypted; use a trusted network such as home Wi-Fi. - Limitations: the app must stay open and the iPhone unlocked during transfers (iOS suspends background apps). Interrupted transfers restart from the beginning. Guest Wi-Fi with device isolation does not work. ## Pages - [Home](https://filesacrossapp.com/): overview, how it works, features, pricing, comparison with other methods, fact sheet and FAQ - [Support](https://filesacrossapp.com/support/): connecting, troubleshooting a page that won't load, pairing codes, storage, folders, Pro purchases, security - [Privacy Policy](https://filesacrossapp.com/privacy/): no data collected; permissions explained - [Terms of Use](https://filesacrossapp.com/terms/): app terms, Files Across Pro one-time purchase, free try and refunds ## Guides - [Transfer files between iPhone and Windows PC over Wi-Fi](https://filesacrossapp.com/guides/iphone-to-windows-pc/): step by step for Windows 10 and 11, without iTunes or a cable - [Transfer files between iPhone and Linux over Wi-Fi](https://filesacrossapp.com/guides/iphone-to-linux/): Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian and others, using only Firefox or Chromium - [Export your whole iPhone photo library to a PC](https://filesacrossapp.com/guides/export-iphone-photos-to-pc/): monthly ZIPs in original quality, resumable by month ## Optional - [Full text for LLMs](https://filesacrossapp.com/llms-full.txt): all of the above in one Markdown file - [Contact](mailto:support@filesacrossapp.com): support@filesacrossapp.com
